Tortoise vs. Lucy is the first segment of episode seven of The Looney Tunes Peanuts Show. It aired on Cartoon Network on March 27, 2016 and Boomerang on April 17, 2016.
Synopsis[]
After reading The Tortoise and the Hare, Lucy becomes incensed at the idea of a turtle outrunning another species, and challenges Cecil Turtle to a race.
Plot[]
While reading a book of stories, Lucy reads the final of "The Tortoise and the Hare", and she disliked it because the turtle was the winner of the race. Cecil Turtle, who was seesing it on the window, claims that he could outrun Lucy, prompting Lucy to challenge him to a race. Lucy, who drives a mini car for the race, and Cecil agree to no cheating. Cecil, however, quickly reveals that his shell is now rocket propelled, allowing him to go a surprising combination between fast and slow. Lucy does her best to steal, dismantle, and destroy the device, but all to little effect. In the end, however, she does manage to top the turtle and crosses the finish line first. Nevertheless, it is Cecil who has the last laugh when he rooks Lucy into confessing to "doing 100 easy"—in a 30 miles per hour (48 km/h) speed zone. Lucy is taken away by the police to enjoy her victory—behind bars.
